Equivocality

I was talking with someone yesterday about the unity of all human beings, how we’re all connected, how a truly enlightened being would be know instinctively what everyone else is thinking and feeling, and how this new age of human consciousness is not only possible but inevitable.

That’s what they were saying, anyway. But I find I agree with the basic point: we really are going to become astonishingly interconnected in the future. I just disagree on the methods.

Consider: a Bluetooth headset implanted just under the skin + appropriately slick voice-command software = telepathy. Just for fun, maybe throw in a mic designed to pick up sub-vocalizations, so that you don’t have to share your conversations with the people on the bus.

I wonder who is going to sell it first? I bet Apple is going to make the best one, though.
